Where Home, Family, and Community Meet

Weldon has always been part of Tarka’s story. As a child, she spent holidays and summers here with her grandparents, building memories in a place her father - an area native - has always called home. At sixteen, after her grandmother passed, Tarka moved to Weldon with her parents and later graduated from Weldon High School, Class of ’95.

After graduation, she left for the Navy, beginning a life of service and adventure that took her to the DC/MD area, where she lived for the next 30 years. Though life carried her far, Weldon never stopped feeling like home. She returned often to visit her parents, holding onto a deep connection to the community that helped shape her.

In April 2025, Tarka came back more permanently - this time with a vision. She wanted to create the kind of place she herself longed for: somewhere to eat, drink, sit, and stay awhile. A welcoming space rooted in connection. A true neighborhood gathering place.

That vision came to life with the love and support of family. Her daughter, Taylor, and son-in-law, Josh, moved here to help build the dream alongside her. They’re joined by her husband, Robert; her children, Olivia and Allen; and her parents, Leon and Becky—each playing a role in making this space what it is today.

This place is more than a business. It’s a homecoming. A table with room for everyone. And we’re so glad you’re here - because community only works when neighbors gather, linger, and belong.
